How about a local community college that is much, much cheaper?
my brother is actually doing pharmacy tech right now and he paid about $2000 and they give you a choice to either pay in full or in installments for 9 months. if your in california you can probably find one of these schools.. the school is called boston reed. what you pay includes books and an externship. heres the website:
Ask your local Pharmacist. You may find better results from the smaller, 1-store, pharmacy.
